first aid
Things to have on hand for a baby first aid kit:
- Baby Tylenol and Baby Motrin (talk to your pediatrician, but the advice from mine was that you can actually give both at the same time when a child needs intense pain relief and/or see what is most effective if trying to get a fever down). Also, if you have a baby that doesn't do well taking medicine orally, you can use suppositories.
- Benadryl
- Nasal aspirator (Nose Frida and/or steal the blue ball ones from the hospital - I actually think the hospital nasal aspirators are great)
- Thermometer. We initially got a forehead thermometer because it was top rated on Consumer Reports (Vick's, apparently now discontinued), but we found it very hard to use. The Braun Ear Thermometer is much better, and it's what most of my friends use. If you can get yourself comfortable with the idea, rectal thermometers are super accurate and this Vick's model is good.
