blankets

Blankets are so cozy and wonderful and multi-purpose, but be warned that you will get lots of unsolicited blankets because people love to give them as gifts. One of my favorites is the Little Giraffe Chenille Blanket. It's so soft and cozy! I like it so much I also got a sleep sack in the same material (note that I have mixed feelings on the sleep sack, as the zipper isn't great quality and gets stuck a lot). Blankets are also an arena where it's not crazy to splurge and get a nice one, since you will use it daily. We had a wonderful grey cashmere baby blanket from Bloomingdales (similar here in ivory) but it was tragically lost on a vacation when my mom used it as a scarf in a moment of desperation and proceeded to lose it. For lightweight blankets (throwing over a stroller to create shade, etc.), muslin is the best (Aden + Anais, Rouxroo, etc.). Roller Rabbit also makes beautiful, fluffy baby quilts in cute prints.
